cake pops!

Oh cake, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways… I’d eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner if I could do so without vomiting. That’s some hardcore love. So when I found out that my favourite food is just a jumping off point for a whole new generation of tasty treats, I was intrigued.

Cake pops and cake balls are my current treat of choice. Not only are they delicious — I mean, you take some cake, mix it with some icing and dip it in chocolate — they’re also portion controlled. I might eat 100 but considering they’re $2 at starbucks, chances are good that I won’t be doing so any time soon. At least not until my next paycheque comes. (The  up-side of the Canada Post strike?)

For today’s fun, I decided to try my own hand at bakerella’s famous cake pops, the results? Well, not quite as pretty but the look yummy. Aside from the chocolate sliding off the pops, the balls falling into the chocolate and me swearing up a storm, everything went beautifully! I refuse to show you the truly crappy ones because it’s my blog and if I want to edit reality, I totally can!

Party tonight. Cake pops to be made, Margharitas to be mixed and cheeseball to devour. Fun, fun, fun!
